Sometimes you may face personal problems that are difficult to handle alone. When concerns become overwhelming and affect personal happiness, family relations, performance at work, and even health, Mayo Clinic's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help. This employer-paid benefit provides you and your family members access to confidential assessment and referral services regarding personal concerns such as:
- Family relationships
- Financial or legal issues
- Alcohol or drug dependency
- Workplace and vocational issues
- Mental and emotional difficulties

In-House EAP Counselor
Arizona employees now have the option of meeting with an in-house Mayo EAP mental health counselor. There is no cost, it is a confidential meeting and EAP is not part of the medical or human resource record. The counselor will assess the issue or primary concern and, if appropriate, will offer up to eight sessions to address a wide array of life concerns. This service is part of the Mayo Rochester EAP started by the Rochester in-house EAP over 30 years ago.

- Free unlimited text-based coaching
- Therapy and psychiatry services billed through your insurance provider (When cost-sharing is required, Mayo Medical Plan participants are responsible for the full cost of services until they’ve met their plan deductible. Costs for visits can vary as they are determined by the provider, not the Mayo Medical Plan. Once the participant has met their deductible, coinsurance begins. This means the participant is responsible for 20% of covered services and the Mayo Medical Plan pays for 80%. Coinsurance continues until the participant has met their out-of-pocket maximum for the calendar year. Once this maximum is met, the Mayo Medical Plan pays for 100% of covered services through the end of the calendar year.)

The Rochester Mayo Clinic EAP offers no cost, confidential counseling to Rochester based employees and employees who reside in MN, qualified dependents, and Mayo health science students. Counselors provide short-term counsel for a variety of life issues. The EAP also provides referrals to community resources and serves as a resource to leadership. Our Supervisor Toolkit provides information on leadership services.
