Can I force/mandate an employee to use the EAP?

No, employee participation is voluntary. A supervisor cannot discipline an employee for refusing to access the EAP. Supervisors are strongly encouraged to contact the EAP prior to referring an employee for any workplace issues or concerns.

Can I share employee information with EAP Counselor?

Yes, it is strongly recommended that you share any workplace information that will allow the counselor to better understand all the issues and concerns form your point of view as their leader.

Will I hear anything from the EAP if they see one of my employees?

A signed written release by the employee is needed for any additional information to be shared.

Can I use the EAP as a supervisor/leader?
